this means that this event received without date, and the date you is the date when this event was grabbed by our service.

Okay.. my package then has potentially been in customs since Jan 23rd. Should I be worried? Has NY Customs been slow lately?

Don't worry, right now 1 month in customs isn't that much.
Anyway right now if the pack is still in customs (max i ever waited was 2 months, including shipping so it must have stayed a little more then one month) and if they doen't release it i would call the postal service or maybe customs directly, it depends on  your country

Seeing red alerts on tracking always makes me nervous! The asterisk likely indicates an exception or delay. Customs processing times vary wildly. Sometimes it's quick, other times it takes longer. I find distracting myself helps, especially with something engaging. Lately, I've been hooked on  Snow Rider 3D to pass the time while waiting for updates. Hopefully, your package clears soon!
